JDRF is the only global organization with a strategic plan to bring a continuous flow of life changing therapies and, ultimately a cure for T1D. JDRF isn’t just imaging such a future. We are making it happen. Join us in creating this future.

JDRF is working to lessen the burden of those living with T1D through innovative treatments. This past year the Artificial Pancreas Project held outpatient clinical trials across the United States. This technology will revolutionize the way people will manage their diabetes. This is just the first of many advancements that we will see in the coming years.

Now, JDRF is bringing together scientists and researchers from more than 25 institutions to accelerate this technology through its newly formed Encapsulation Consortium. The inaugural meeting of the JDRF Encapsulation Consortium was held on March 14, 2013 in New York City with the purpose of supporting a collaborative group of key players in science, engineering, and medicine to share their research to advance encapsulation technology.

Prevention for this disease is as crucial as the therapies as new cases of type 1 are growing by 4% annually. JDRF is working to ensure in the type one diabetes turns into type none.

JDRF Central Florida hosts 2 research events each year focusing on the advancements mentioned above and features keynote speakers who are experts in these therapies. Check out the events page to learn when the next research event will occur in your county.
